Welcome to a unique test bed for farm direct produce: this will be the first "workplace CSA" type project in Finland!
This year we will be testing a work-place (day time) pick up point at the Maria start up hub.
In contrast to REKO farmer's markets or picking up from the farm, I will be combining Maria with my restaurant delivery schedule on Tuesdays or Fridays- depending on how this trial goes.
That means I'll be coming to you in the afternoon, potentially saving you a shopping trip after work each week.
Like REKO, there will be up to a 30 minute window to pick up the produce from the parking lot.
CSA- prearranged vegetable shares. This is the same package I offer on the farm and through REKO. You can find more about it at this link.
“Credit” system. Prepay for vegetables and choose what you want, when you want it, from the list made available each week. Minimum 150€ to qualify for the same early bird discount the CSA members are eligible for:
Join before April 1 and get the 10% early bird discount + attendant bonuses (see the link in the CSA option)
REKO-style ordering. Choose from a list of vegetables and order as much or as little as you want during the season. Cash or bank transfer only at the moment.
“Juicing” option: larger vegetables, not normally salable, so lower price. Minimum order 20€/time to buy in bulk. Win win- you get more vegetables for less and I get rid of things I can’t sell, but which are still perfectly edible. Can be bought with through the credit system or REKO-style. If you qualify for the early bird discount, you can apply the 10% off to this as well. Note: this option might not always be available!
Minimal packaging. Rubber bands are basically it. You need to bring your own boxes/bags/whatever you want to keep your food in.
Minimal processing. Only dirty vegetables like roots are washed regularly. If you want washed vegetables, the price has to go up.
No-spray, minimal “control” efforts. Vegetables might have bugs, slugs, etc at different times of the year. Sometimes the vegetables are “perfect” but some level of damage is normal.
Settle days and times. This will happen weekly, either Tuesdays or Fridays. Once we have a few people participating, we can negotiate when this should be. Note that because I run this farm alone, the exact timing may be difficult depending on my workload- se we need to be flexible as well.
